Short Information
Socially Innovative Climate and Sustainability Experiments in Austria
In March and April 2022, representatives of selected socially innovative climate and sustainability experiments in Austria were invited to participate in an online survey. 116 people responded to this call and shared information about their project. The map shows where these initiatives are located in Austria.
Project background
Experimental approaches are considered key in the fight against climate and sustainability problems because they can test possible solutions ad hoc in practice and show paths for a profound transformation of society. This is especially true for socially innovative experiments that aim to change everyday practices and social interactions. However, the dimension of social innovation is sometimes insufficiently researched in experiments, which makes their generalisation and routinisation difficult. This is where the SIAMESE research project comes in.
